Pitch 2 Reflections
Really enjoyed today's pitch. Here are my reflections on the projects.
Cornucopia: The focus of this app is on the volunteer assistant side. I believe many of the users, including volunteers, are less educated, so design a friendly user interface that are easy to understand with vivid icons and graphical languages will be useful.
Food insecurity: Both address the problem of food insecurity; compared with Cornucopia, the focus of this app is to balance the demand and supply. So, a robust database with useful inventory check features will be amazing. Besides, a report to show the progress in balancing the demand and supplies will be super persuasive for the investors.
Restaurant Reform: It will be extremely useful to inject the dietary restriction data into map providers, especially by serving local users through detailed surveys and preference collection. It will also be great to develop a warning label plugin when people are navigating between restaurants.
Debate Online: Impressed by the innovative concept of “debate.” I was in a negotiation class before, and there are many strategies to help people debate. So, I guess it will be great to separate your app from common chatting software by providing users with suggestions for debate strategies to help people, especially those in subdominant positions, express their true demands clearly.
Knowsy: Shared my comments after your pitch. I would suggest looking at the K2C2 project done ten years ago to see how the urban planning system works here in Cambridge. Being an urban designer, I am very interested in how to visualize the decisions made by the city and share them to the public.
NixKnack: I believe the easy logging will be a critical feature for the hoarding people. They have too many things to manage and it will be very difficult to organize. So an automatic tagging and organization system may be extremely helpful in this app.
Closet Share: It is a great idea to share and reuse the cloth! I believe it will be more useful if you can build a mutual-trust platform to share high-value clothes. And think about temporary use, like you want to attend a pitch with high-end suits, but you don't want to spend a fortune to buy this one-time use case. Or think about kids who grow fast. A cloth will be too small after a few months. I expect there will be many opportunities.
Sharefolio: This project reminds me of a famous YouTube ad that shares the idea with your app. Investment requires fast responses and live updates on all the stock numbers, with clear indicators of critical parameters. I believe a great challenge is to design this app as trustworthy as well as reflect the fast-paced nature of investment. I also suggest providing educational resources for new investors to analyze why a portfolio sharer chooses to invest in certain stocks.
