Blog on Palliative Care App
I have a friend that lives far, far away that is actually going into palliative care! The problem domain was thus quite interesting, and I was even tempted to call them up and ask about the app!
Palliative Care is definitely a stigmatic topic, considering how serious of a topic it addresses.
I was a little confused about why certain problem domains in the palliative care field was chosen over the other. Explaining why you chose the specific domains could've empowered your pitch even more.
According to the aforementioned friend, it may be more viable to provide guidelines for addressing emotional issues using the app, rather than asking the user to share their data with the app. Some people they care for do end up writing journals and diaries, but they expressed concern about the content's visibility.
Unlike Daniel's feedback, however, they did mention that having an app for the "patients" themselves, not the caretakers, could be important. Many people use applications to help manage their mental health- there's many therapy apps out there, for example. One specialized for palliative care recipients could be nice!
The app is definitely supporting an important cause, and it will definitely make a change :0
